What Is It?

This is a really fun one. The basic idea is that you try to find out what something is from as far away as possible. I mostly play this with people. You can try to decipher many things like age, sex, and race. Additional items to consider include:

• Are those her kids or is she just babysitting?
• Why is that man not wearing his shirt?
• Can you identify the couples in a group of people?
• What drugs are they using?

Attach a bell to your bike and ring it when you pass by people. Hilarity quickly ensues.

This is the lamest thing I’ve ever heard. Tumblr is about the lols, which are scarce like the Siberian tiger.

1. I’ll be really nice to you.
2. I don’t meet many girls so you won’t have to worry about me running off with someone else.
3. I’m hilarious.
4. I’m pretty active so you shouldn’t need to worry about me becoming obese.
5. Computer engineering is one of the most in-demand jobs and the average starting salary for someone in my major is $60,000.
6. I cook a mean steak and I’m not bad at cooking other things.
7. I know what matches when it comes to clothes.
8. While going to the mall and shopping isn’t my favorite thing, I’ll gladly accompany you on your shopping trips and remind you of how beautiful you are so long as we also get food.
9. My family has Sabres season tickets in the 100 level. You would be welcome to join me for as many weekend games as you please.
10. I can hook up any TV, secure any wireless network, or fix any computer problems you might happen upon.

So obviously when I said I would post my thoughts everyday, I didn’t mean it.

I went orienteering with my dad Thursday evening/late afternoon. It started out pretty badly, but while lost we just happened upon a control point. From there on out it was smooth sailing and we ended up with 10 of 17 controls. Afterward, I came up with the word “orienterrific” to describe good orienteering adventures.

That said, I’d like to try orienteering in Rochester. It’s more popular there and I feel like Rochester has nicer parks.

On Friday I was really excited that the server I spent two weeks working on worked! I wrote it in C++, although it probably looks very C-like. It still has some kinks I need to work out, but it did a great job of receiving one packet and sending back another packet that my Python client correctly decoded. Also, endianness is really confusing.

I finally cashed my latest paycheck over a week after it was supposed to be directly deposited into my bank account. On the bright side, now I have to wait only one week for the next paycheck.

Before cashing that check, I had some really awesome dreams; much better than my previous dream about bugs. The dreams involved cute girls that wanted to talk to me, playing baseball while using my laptop, and finding out I had tons of Say Anything posters hiding under my Say Anything posters.

I do have many Say Anything posters, but none of them are on my walls. Also, cute girls don’t talk to me.

I’m going to try to compile my thoughts in blog form everyday. I’m using Tumblr on the grounds that it’s imported to Facebook.

I love Japanese Tuesday. Not even because of the entrees; I like the side dishes like the shrimp tempura, gyoza, and tuna/California rolls. FYI, the shrimp tempura is a long, fluffy, fried shrimp and the gyoza is like a meat pierogi.

I had a crazy dream about bugs last night. The details are a little hazy now, but there were bugs literally coming out of the woodwork in my living room. One huge grub started eating through my carpet; it was disgusting. I started spraying them with Pledge because it was the closest propellant nearby and that’s how I do when it comes to bugs. I also dreamt about being abducted by aliens because I always dream about being abducted by aliens. You could say it’s always been a dream of mine.

The past couple days at work I’ve been having trouble focusing, so I started writing my thoughts down on paper. It hasn’t helped much with focusing, but at least it keeps a records of my thoughts so I don’t have to rethink them.

I finally finished some work I’ve been stuck on since last week. I’m glad that the solution was actually pretty simple.

I’ll be playing roller hockey in about an hour and I’m really excited that I’ll be playing against a team that isn’t terrible. It’s tough for me to get in the mood when I’m playing against teams that never win.
